Cheesy Christian Site Of The Week

Jesus makes an appearance ‘in person’ on this church site. His ‘message’ ends with, ‘And remember, I’ll always love you’, which either sounds like Barney The Dinosaur or Whitney Houston massacring a tender Dolly Parton song.

According to Purgatorio (thanks for the link) the site claims,

‘This site was created and inspired by God through the Power of the Holy Spirit.’

I can’t help thinking of the wicked story Murray Watts once told in an edition of Ship Of Fools back in the early 1980s when it was a mere printed magazine. He told of people who would say to him, ‘The Lord has given me a poem’ and then present it to him. But most who claimed the Lord had given them something had written pretty terrible stuff. So Watts was wont to tear the poem to pieces and say, ‘The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord’.

But in this site’s case what is all the more curious is that the site site also has the statement,

‘All Rights Reserved Copyright Crossrevconnect.com’

God doesn’t seem to get the copyright, then, despite it being supposedly his inspiration. I mean, they could at least put his royalties in the offering plate.
