Here’s a great quote:
A transformed heart is like a magnet set near a compass – it disturbs and realigns the direction of those it comes close to.
From a reflection on Psalm 51 on the Inspire Network.
Isn’t that just the problem – transformed hearts disturb others? Is this one (of many) reasons for conflicts in our churches?
I reckon you’ve hit the nail on the head there David. The trouble with compasses is that they always default back to North as soon as the magnet is taken away!!

Dave – You ought to watch “Wesley – a Heart Transformed” in fact I think every Christian should – especially those “Methodists” I have a copy…..
Jesus certainly upset those in authority around him, and then the disciples did the same.
Would that we were all disturbing!

‘After great pain, a formal feeling comes’ by Emily Dickinson
After great pain, a formal feeling comes
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs
The stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
And Yesterday, or Centuries before?
The Feet, mechanical, go round
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought
A Wooden way
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone
This is the Hour of Lead
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow
First – Chill – then Stupor – then the letting go
